4 Foods for Maximum Fat Loss

A Warp Speed Fat Loss Plan

By Mike Roussell:

Which foods burn the most fat? This is a question that both clients and Fat Burning Foodsfriends ask me. There is so much information out there, "X food is good for you but Y food is now bad." So what is the real truth? Which foods will help you lose weight and which foods won't? Let’s have a look at the foods that you should eat to maximize fat loss. All the foods listed below are important but not listed in any particular order.

  • Green Tea – Although not a food, Green tea is worth mentioning here as it can have a powerful impact not only on weight loss but your overall health and wellbeing. Although an acquired taste for many, (it can have a bitter taste) you can avoid this be not letting the tea steep for too long.  You can drink it hot or cold (cold is particularly refreshing in the summer!) Green tea contains cancer fighting compounds and is both a stimulant and an antioxidant.  It increases energy which makes it a useful part of any weight loss program. Research has shown that the combination of caffeine and EGCG (which is naturally combined in green tea) can help burn extra fat. Drink 2-3 cups a day. In fact I'm drinking some right now!

  • Salmon - Research has shown that the long chain omega-3 fats found in salmon are the best kind. These fats can actually help you burn more fat. Salmon is an excellent source of high-quality protein (you get about 30 grams in a four-ounce serving). It really is a perfect food.

  • Broccoli - Broccoli is a perfect superfood. It is an excellent source of fiber, contains antioxidants and phytochemicals that have been shown to help fight cancer. It’s also high in calcium and vitamin C. There is also some evidence to suggest that another compounds found in broccoli, Calcium D-glucarate, can bind excess estrogen in the body. You can buy it fresh or frozen, florets are the best. You should eat broccoli often.

  • Almonds - Almonds are a great fat loss snack. Almonds are a very good source of protein and are extremely convenient, portable, and they have a long shelf life. Store them in an airtight container, in a cool dry place away from sunlight and they'll keep for about two to four months. Storing them in the freezer will allow them to keep an extra two months.   You should keep a small bag of almonds in your briefcase, or backpack as an emergency weight loss snack. Almonds contain fat, fiber, and protein - all of which will help curb your hunger. They are also low in carbohydrates and provide your body with energy while keeping your blood sugar levels under control.  Studies have shown that eating almonds several times per week lowers circulating cholesterol levels.

Weight loss plateaus can be very frustrating but please don't let them discourage you or stop you from reaching your goal. If you have trulyEating reached a plateau choose one of the techniques above and put it into action. When you hit another plateau, pick another one. Do this until you have reached your goal. Remember that for the most part weight loss is not a linear process. Plateaus are a normal physiological occurrence but by using the strategies laid out in this article you can overcome temporary weight loss homeostasis and achieve the body you really want.
